I just HAD to share this link. I found it through Andrea Guarino-Slemmon's post on FB. The Artistic Timeline by Michael Deming. His post talks about how all art is essentially "borrowed" and how even if you share you techniques with students they will never be able to do your work, and to keep art evolving.
