This and that and our creative friend, Sam

Hello friends!

I am trying to keep up to date with my posts so I wanted to let you know what I have been up to the last few days.

Remember all of my pretty new packaging things? I got an organizer for them! Ahhhh they all have a nice little organized home instead of being in piles on top of and under my desk! It's so nice to have things tidyed up.

So on Monday I ended up having a play day with mom and our friend Sam who's name is actually Geline(like Evangeline). I just snapped a few pictures from our visit as most of it was some show-and-tell of moms and my art work.

This is Sam's "stuido in a box".  Sams studio is in her basement where she would prefer to spend most of her time, but her hubby Richard enjoys spending time with her upstairs. Her compromise for both of them was her "studio in a box" so she can create up stairs while enjoying time with her hubby ;)

Inside Sam's box was one of her sketch books with many of her doodles. Sam is one of the most amazingly artistic people I have the pleasure of calling my friend. Here are some of her doodles. Mom and I thought the top right drawing looked like it could be translated into a jewelry piece.

I really love this drawing on the top right again. It looks like an octopus with leaf arms and little pebbles.

Look at these! She even did one in color! WOAH...I love these leafy looking ones too!

Holy crap! Can you believe this colored one? It reminded me of pomegratate seeds and I forget what else I said, but it's absolutely amazing, isn't it?!

We decided to go out for lunch and it was CURRY MONDAY at my favorite local Thai  restaurant, Tasty Thai. Curry Monday is when they do a buy one get one for a dollar curry dishes that come with an egg roll and soup for the lunch special. So here is a pic of mom on the left and Sam on the right. Sam is showing us how the Zentangle drawings are started.

I hope in the busy days that have been surrounding you, you have chosen to "play hookey" and carve out some fun art time with friends.

See you soon!

LOVE her work! I think thats one of the things I love about doing jewelry shows, is meeting and hanging with the other artists and just being amazed at each others talent.

thanks for the intro to your friend!!! She is excellent, and I love her work!
