Hello beautiful souls!

It's time! It's LIVE! Yes, my new website is LIVE! I was excited to get most of it built the other day. So the base of the site is all built and I will be busily loading up my shop! HOORAY!! Below is a little video I took while I was building my site, but you can see my webpage www.thirdeyegypsy.com . So what's the most exciting thing about the new webpage? NEW WORK!

 I have SO much art, jewelry, and beads that are NOT online yet. You may have caught a glimpse of them when I did  a 3 day sale, but after that they were not available. I was not going to keep adding things to my Etsy shop when they were not getting the views they deserved. As you know Etsy has changed a lot over the years. I was not really happy with the changes and how things were for the sellers. The site was no longer doing things in our best interest and a lot of us dropped off. We make our livings selling our art and it's hard to make a living if no one is seeing your work. This is the whole reason a webpage is so important. If you sell on third party sites THEY get all the views. Not you. WE are the ones that make these sites money and allow them to make millions on us. So it's only fair that WE get to benefit from OUR hard work, but enough about that... 

I am just SO excited to be loading up my new shop! I even think about it while I fall asleep. I was even dreaming about it. I had a dream last night about having a few people helping me assemble my jewelry for my website. I was thinking about how they were going to add the pendants onto my finsihed sari silk necklaces, but then realized they would have to open the jump rings to put the pendants on when they sold and realized the snag there. Lol! You can see where my mind has been! 

I am JUST SO EXCITED about all of the ideas I have in store for my work. Some ideas I got a chance to test out before I got ill and busy with my side projects, and others that are in the dream state while I build funds and start getting new equipment and supplies. The upgrades I will need for all of the new equipment will be expensive and I will need to tackle them bit by bit to really be able to bring my body of work to my new ideas, but I can tell you it will be like nothing you have ever seen! I can't wait to be creating all of these new things. The expanded business from my new webpage will allow me to get these new supplies and equipment. I couldn't be more excited!!

Well I am going to hop off here and get to it! You can check my webpage and see items pop into my shop! I can assure you I am just as excited as you to watch them go live. Let's count how many times I said "excited" in this blog post. Lol. Guess I need some new words ;)

You may have also noticed that we have had to use "gypsys" instead of the proper spelling. Someone else already had that name so I did my best to make it easy and keep the name I wanted. I feel like this name really suits me and my evolution of spirit and creativity.I think it's the perfect new chapter for my work as I have really grown out of "Genea Beads". So what about the beads? you might ask. Well at the moment I am not currently making new glass work, but that doesn't mean this will be forever. The summer has been HOT and awful here in Kansas City, Missouri and I just needed a little break from my "old life". This new turn into mixed-media has opened so many new things in my life. I have been honored to join the mixed-media  Artistcellar design team. I feel like this new side step will allow me to grow in my glass art when I return to my torch. I can't wait to figure out ways to incorporate this new style into my glasswork. For now my new "tools" for art have been a paint brush with:acrylic paint, watercolors, paint markers, ink pad pigments, and some super awesome metallic paints.

Fear not, friends! It wouldn't be a sale if we didn't offer our glasswork as well! So now is the time to load up on some of your favorites because now more than ever they really are one-of-a-kind! Surfacing

Hello friends!

It's been awhile huh? I needed to drop off for the holidays. Holidays seem to ZOOM by at an alarming rate anymore. I wasn't feeling super jolly this year. I was really burned out and exhausted. I decided to finish up my sale for Black Friday/Cyber Monday and my Why Not Wing Ding sale and then drop off for awhile. I feel like I didn't get a break since before doing Bead Fest so I decided to finish up the sales and then spend some time SLOWING DOWN to enjoy the holidays before they slipped by. After all, I had MANY handmade gifts to create for friends and family. I unplugged, sat down to create, and would you believe NOTHING at all came out? It's like the creative energy was so depleted I just about gave up. Isn't that terrible? It was especially terrible for me since I am a gifter and feel great joy creating special things for people. I guess I felt a lot of pressure to create that super amazing gift for each individual. Why? I dunno. I just did and thinking of all of the handmade gifts I needed to make stressed me out to making NOTHING. Wow, what a bummer! But.... Thank God... things slowly started coming to me. Gift ideas popped into my head. I began creating gifts for people that weren't expecting anything. It was the perfect way to ease into making. Create with no expectations.  I was slowly getting inspired. I would see something that would spark an idea and off I ran with it.

Here are a few things I created....

Here were the gift tags I created for Besty, and Emily of Indigo Wild( our VERY favorite local soap company).  We attend their amazing friends and family party every year around the holidays. I normally gift them with some kind of piece related to their business(like their soap bars made out of glass), but this year I decided on something that was all Genea Beads ;)

Here were the gifts inside the boxes.

I even made a glass Zum bar for Tara(one of our favorite Zummy girls). 

I enjoyed creating the gift tags so well that I even recycled brown kraft bags we had and turned them into mixed-media gift wrap. I personalized a gift tag so that there was a very personal part the the gift wrap, but left the bag purely design so it could be re-used :)

Here was the gift I created for my friend Melissa. She loves butterflies and every year she has a word of the year. This year she chose "Inspire" so I added the text to the bottom. I was inspired to create this piece in my style from this simple Pinspiration.

I really LOVE this piece. I did it in my Moroccan style with some  mixed-media techniques.

I have way more pieces to show, but you can check them out on my page if you want to see all of them ;) 

I made my way back to the studio as well. These were the last beads for 2013!

Most all of these are sold already. They went FAST! I did lots of XL and large focals.

Here are the last 2 that are currently in the shop. I loved doing the "Desert Serpent" in an XL focal! It's such a huge canvas with which to work! The bead on the right was a serendipitous bead. I had this idea planned out for a different style focal and my propane was running out rapidly. I worked the bead as far as I could with the gas I had left with only about a lighter's worth of flame left before the torch went out completely! I am really pleased with the design. This is, of course another odd lot so the bead is very limited. Spiral Batik Urn "Wasabi".

It's been BONE Chilling cold here. In fact, right now it's 0 degrees. Brrrr! I will be headed over to the studio on the night of the 7th to make more beads. I have MANY things to make especially with all of my tutorial articles hitting the shelves for Bead Design Studio!   Lots to create in 2014! See you soon!
